I make photographs about being human — closely observed, quietly emotional, and often gently amusing. My work begins with life as it happens. Sometimes I let it unfold. Sometimes I nudge it gently back into place. Either way, the feeling is pure. People do wonderful things when they think no one is looking. That is precisely when I pay the most attention.
